Escape from Spirit Prison is an interactive escape room like experience where you must solve puzzles to learn more about your own family history.
It can be played as a family, or with youth group teams - the ideal team size is 4-7 players, so up to 35 youth can play simultaneously by rotating to different puzzle locations in classrooms at a church building.
There are 5 puzzles to solve (10 to 15 minutes each), ideally a parent/facilitator can help each team with each puzzle if they get stuck by giving them a small clue in exchange for one of their 3 hint tokens.
As players or teams, solve a puzzle correctly, they will discuss a family history principle, read and discuss a scripture, and participate in a family search activity on their mobile phone or laptop computer, which will reveal something unique about their own family history.
